This was the first themed issue of Beatdom and looks at Patti Smith, John Lennon, and Bob Dylan, among others.

Beatdom #7 is a music-themed issue and features essays about Hunter S. Thompson, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, and their musical influences. It contains some of our most popular articles, including our famous “Setting Gonzo to a Beat”. We also look at Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Jim Carroll, Tom Waits, Patti Smith, David Bowie, and their relationships with literature. This issue also features interviews with the people at Flying Dog Brewery and an excerpt from an oral biography of Herbert Huncke.
