In 2007, with the creation of Beatdom literary journal, the editors formed a company called Mauling Press. A little later, we changed its name to City of Recovery Press (CoRP) and expanded from publishing Beatdom to become a general publishing company. In 2010 we became Beatdom Books and began a semi-regular publishing schedule.
For more than a decade, we have published books about the Beat Generation, which can be found as paperbacks or Amazon Kindle editions here. We also sell most of them as PDF files here. Whilst some of these books are now out of print, most are still available and we continue to publish works that shed new light on Beat literature and related countercultural movements.
Aside from this focus on Beat and Beat-related writing, we aim to publish books that are what we term “semi-academic.” This means that they are typically areas of academic interest but written in accessible ways and published at prices that make them available to the general public.
