On April 1st, Charles Bukowski released a new book. No joke.
According to the Eastern Echo:
Last week Calonne released his second collection of unpublished works by Bukowski, entitled “Absence of the Hero.” He has published two other books on Bukowski, including a previous collection of essays and short stories entitled “Portions from a Wine-Stained Notebook,” released in 2008.
Dr. David Calonne is an Eastern Michigan University professor with a particular interest in the Beat Generation. He work to bring unpublished Bukowski poems and stories to light is admirable.
If you read the rest of the article (here’s the link again) you’ll see that Calonne is especially interested in William Saroyan.
His first collection of Bukowski’s unpublished works – Portions of a Wine-Stained Notebook – was published by City Lights and translated into Italian, Spanish, Czech and Japanese.
