We are feeling generous and are giving away a free copy of Beatdom Issue Nine (the drugs issue). The competition is on Facebook, but if you don’t have Facebook you can leave your entry at the bottom of this page. Of course, you can also leave your vote. Just leave a message of approval for any of the entries.
To enter, just tell us: What would William S. Burroughs say about Facebook?
Competition closes 12:00 EST Wednesday 26th October.
So far we have four FB entries:
1) ”What a great way to get everyone together to spit out their every thought and action, the CIA and FBI must love it”.
3) ”Anything that can be done electronically can be done by other means.”
4) “The ooze which drips from the eye is the ooze formed by the electrified liquified, dematerialized grey matter pushed from its now cavernous abode by the endless pulsation from the ever glowing screen, scream. The electronic driven impulse, the compulsion to live the life of an exhibitionist. Cocks and tits to the breeze, the ease of it all, the opportunities endless. A space available every moment to vomit, and to watch others vomit, all seeking approval for the banal. It is the banal that grabs all the attention, the adulation within worthless comments and the glory glory and amens in the form of the armless hand, the thumbs up. How about a thumb up the ass, or in the seeping gap that once housed your eye? Take a piece of paper feel it, smell it, it once was used by men to communicate. It once held words, spelled correctly or close enough to be recognized. Crumble it up listen to the sound, eat it, shit it out and share the experience with your friends. Friends some known some not, but friends none the less.”
So let us know what you think. The clock is ticking…
